I always see a first sunrise of the year and Mt.Fuji at Headland Beach in Chigasaki city, Kanagawa prefecture.
It is part of a Shonan Beach, a collection of wide beaches close to Tokyo, spreads from Kamakura city and Fujisawa city up to Chigasaki city.
Watching the sunrise on New Year’s Day is special event to us Japanese.
Because it is traditionally thought as a divine manifestation.

I arrived at the beach at 6:51 almost at the same time of the sunrise.
Many people already stood in line along the shore and waited for sunrise.
There were many clouds than usual, so I wasn’t sure if I could see the sunrise.
But so luckily the sun rose between the sea and cloud!
1 January 2018
I arrived at the beach at 6:45 , 5 minutes earlier of the sunrise.
In the red circle, you can take beautiful pictures of the sunrise with Enoshima island and Mt.Fuji at the same time.
Just before the dawn, the beach was so crowded with the people.
Finally the sun rose up on the right side of Enoshima island.
I took this picture with 2 times zoom by iPhone7 Plus.
Shoot it with surfers and a bird (it flies around here every time) is better.
I could see Mount Fuji on the opposite side of the sunrise.
I took this picture with 7 times zoom by iPhone with attaching 2x telephoto lens of Switch 6 for iPhone 8 Plus / iPhone 7 Plus.
If you don’t wear any lens to your smartphone, you will need 9 – 10 times zoom.
