I went to the Ofuna Kannon-ji temple to see fully bloomed cherry blossoms and Kannon statue.
It is located on top of the small hill near Ofuna station in Kamakura city,Kanagawa prefecture.
For me it’s been a very long time to go there since I was child.
Nevertheless I often see it from the window of the train.

Before I headed to there, I took a picture from the pedestrian bridge at west exit of JR Ofuna station.

It took about 5 minutes from Ofuna station to the entrance(Sanmon gate) of Ofuna Kannon-ji temple.
I bought an admission ticket at here.

Enter the gate, you can see the memorial cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims right in front of you.

From along side the wall on the left, you can take a picture of Kannon such like this.

There is a Kannon(Kanzeon Bosatsu, a goddess of compassion and mercy) statue on top of the stairs.

If you look back while going up stairs, you can see the beautiful scenery of Ofuna.

It was built in 1960 for sickness-less protection, against disasters, giving child, easy birth and child’s healthy growth.

These are Ema.
It is a votive picture tablet which we offer to a shrine or temple.

Write your wishes then hang it on a empty hook.

I took this picture in the middle of the pathway on the right side of Kannon statue.

This pathway leads to the entrance of inside Kannon(admission free).
There is a museum & prayer room.
One-twentieth Kannon is enshrined in an alter.

Adult: 300 yen (more than high school student)
Child: 100 yen (elementary and junior high school students)
Small child is no charge.

10 minutes walk from Ofuna station of JR line.
